Description : This research-based project presents the artist's experience with the local authorities of the city of Skopje after submitting a proposal for naming the newly built bridge with the names of two women protesters and fellow citizens. This initiative was provoked by the lack of gender sensitivity of the decision making body and the more obvious division of the city between the different ethnic and religious communities. As Suzana Milevska states: “The project is a rare example of an individual initiative that looks at the issue of the veil with a sensitivity unburdened by the conflicts of the past; an attempt to build a bridge between the different stances towards the veil in conflicting intellectual and cultural camps.”
